NOT IMPRESSED!
Worked on it for four days trying to get it to work properly...NOT IMPRESSED! The app to set up the wifi don't work, and nobody at Ally support seemed to know when the firmware would be updated. I also had problems getting the wifi extender to connect to the master, so I took it back to the store four days later.

Nice app and management...crappy performance
Router performance is terrible. I have a 1GB connection and tested it raw via laptop to get 950Mbps just fine. The Ally router over wired connection could barely make 250Mbps. The 5Ghz radio barely made 150Mbps right next to the router. The remote unit has a speed of 90Mbps (upstairs about 30 feet away). I tried cycling to other channels and confirmed there were no conflicts. I disabled all the advanced AV protection. No help. I switched to a Netgear Nighthawk X4S. Wifi is 600Mbps and wired connection is over 800Mbps. Coverage is pretty good. Upstairs, I still get 300Mbps. I'll have to buy the extender if I want 5Ghz coverage at the front of the house (router in the back). Overall, the Ally has a lot of great features for managing access and security protection. The mobile app is light years ahead of Netgear. BUT, if all you care about is good coverage and wireless speed, Ally is not the product for you.
