Yes, the berries are imitation berry chips, but you can also add some berries of your own and I have done that and it was very yummy, These packets only make 6 regular sized muffins, so I would definitely recommend using 2 of them for some regular size muffins or your going to end up with very little muffins, don't use water it will make them tasteless, use juices or milk if you're adding juice it's the same amount as milk, these make amazing waffles if the package doesn't have the recipe here it is: 1 pouch Betty Crocker triple berry muffin mix 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour 2/3 cup water 2 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 egg Sometimes if I want waffles that are more decadent I add Hersey's Cinnamon chips or cooked bacon cut up,on top of the batter in the waffle iron just before they cook. You only need to add butter on top, syrup is not necessary. Enjoy your muffins
