Why does my Jumbo carton contain mixed size eggs?

I have been purchasing the jumbo eggs for a very long time and have been very pleased with the quality. Over the past few months however, I have noticed that the size of the eggs in the carton are not of uniform size. Several are much smaller and should not be classed or sold as jumbo eggs, which are charged a higher cost.

Most jumbo, some smaller.

I prefer buying eggs in the store, because when delivered, some are jumbo, and some are smaller. I think customers in the store switch the jumbos into a cheaper carton - how cheap can a person be! Also, when delivered, I rarely get a carton that doesn't have some broken. Most recently, 5 were broken.

Only Buy In-person

Today I learned my lesson about including eggs in a delivery order. I will give the clerk who fulfilled the order points for using a food safety bag to contain any potential breakage. But after that, they opted not to care. RULE %231 When bagging groceries, the eggs, bread, and anything else that might otherwise get crushed or broken DO NOT go in a bag with heavy items. Instead, they tossed it in the bottom of the bag with the gallon of creamer and other items on top!
