How To Fill Prescriptions
You can fill a new prescription in these easy ways:
- Bring your paper prescription to your local Walmart Pharmacy. New prescriptions can be filled the same day, even within a few hours, depending on how busy your Pharmacy is.
- Mail your paper prescription to our Home Delivery Pharmacy.
- Have your doctor call the prescription in or send an e-script to your local Walmart Pharmacy.
Once you have filled a new prescription at any Walmart Pharmacy, you can conveniently refill your prescriptions online.

If You Don't Have a Written Prescription
If you don't have a written prescription, you can ask your doctor to call in your prescription to the Pharmacy or send it to us electronically. Use the Store Finder to find the phone number and address of your nearest Walmart Pharmacy to give to your doctor's office. Once the prescription is filled, you or your caregiver must pick the prescription up from the Pharmacy you specified to your doctor.
Fill a New Prescription for Someone Else
If you are a parent or caregiver for someone (or even for a pet), you can fill any new prescription on their behalf as long as you know their name, address, and birth date. Learn more about adding a child, adult, or pet to your Pharmacy account.
