Tom Clancy’s The Division is a ground-breaking RPG experience that brings the genre into a modern military setting for the first time. In the wake of a devastating pandemic that sweeps through New York City, basic services fail one by one, and without access to food or water, the city quickly descends into chaos. As an agent of The Division, you’ll specialize, modify, and level up your gear, weapons, and skills to take back New York on your own terms. This action role-playing game features an open world layout that allows players to explore and interact with the destructed environment. You can take cover behind nearby objects, for example, to avoid enemy fire when in battle or to get out of storms, which affects visibility and makes aiming difficult. Return fire with you're issued Navy MP5 N and Military M9, or choose from an assortment of other weapons, including marksman rifles, submachine guns and many more. Weapons are classified into different tiers depending on rarity. Each player is limited to a primary, a secondary and a sidearm, so be sure to choose your weapons carefully before you take on any mission. Completing missions and other objectives earns players XP points, which can be used to buy weapons, gear and new skills. When you don't have enough XP points, loot and salvage what you can from what you find among the ruins to help you defeat enemies and finish tasks.
When you want to play with others, head to the Dark Zone, the game's competitive multiplayer mode. With an online connection, you have the option to create your own squad with up to four players, which can help you complete missions more quickly and gather more resources. However, be sure to watch your six as player scan go rogue and turn on you. In The Division 2, these players become disavowed and alerted to other players. They turn Manhunt Rogue if they kill too many players, resulting in a bounty on their head. The game also features three dark zones instead of one so more people can join in on the fun.
