There's no denying the convenience of shopping online: it's easy, fun and you get to choose from a wider selection than what's usually available in-store. But you don't have 5-7 business days at your disposal, and would like to avoid fees for expediting shipping. With Walmart's Store Pickup option, you can have what you're looking for as soon as today, not a week later. It's also a smart and safe option for those ordering large items such as furniture, or items that need to be kept safe upon delivery, such as those that may come with branding on the box.
How does Same-Day Pickup work exactly?
Once you've chosen the store you'd like to pickup from, you'll receive a confirmation email for your order, as well as a notification once your item is available for pick up. Items that have a "Free Pickup Today" are usually available four hours from the time of purchase. Any Same-Day Pickup order placed after 4:00pm may be available for pick up the next day. When you arrive, your package will be waiting at the store's Services/Pickup desk, where you must provide a valid photo I.D. for pickup.
What if I'm not available for pickup when my order is ready?
If you are not available to pick up your order when it is ready, Walmart can hold your package up to seven days. Alternatively, if you have to leave town last-minute and won't be back in time, you can also designate a pick-up person when making your order online so they can pick up the package for you instead.
So I can order anything online and it'll be available for an in-store pickup?
Only items that have a "pick up" option are available for pick-up. Items that may not be available for pick-up include perishable products or those containing hazardous materials, any product weighing in excess of 350 pounds, and products sold through a Walmart Marketplace Retailer.
