The tantalizing aroma of sweet potatoes and stuffing roasting in the oven. Music playing at the perfect volume creating ambiance while allowing you to chat with guests. Candlelight glimmering. Is there anything better than a well-planned dinner party? I think not! Great food and fabulous friends… who needs anything else? The only problem is that, though I often find myself awed by the images of gorgeous dining rooms on my favorite home decor blogs, I can never quite figure out how to replicate the same beauty in my own home. That’s why I’ve gone straight to the sources and asked incredible home decorators for their dining room ideas. They shared their top tips for creating an Instagram-worthy dining room (both indoors and out) with us here. Take a look.

1. Balance styles
I love to create a modern/bohemian mix when designing my home. My favorite new additions to my dining room are these woven chairs, available at Walmart.com. The chairs’ classic, mid-century lines paired with the laced strapping were the perfect fit for this space. Their light natural wood color is a great contrast to the bold, black dining table.
