Reimbursement assistance is available for a variety of insurance programs, including Medicare, Medicare Part B, Medicaid, plus split-billing patient assistance programs and more.
Medicare covers services such as lab tests, surgeries and doctor visits, plus equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers that are considered medically necessary to treat a disease or condition. Some of the coverage depends on where you live.
Medicare Part B covers two types of services:
Medical services and/or supplies that are deemed necessary to diagnose or treat your medical condition.
Preventative health care to guard against the flu or detect it at an early stage, when treatment is considered likely to work the best.
You won't pay anything for many preventive services as long as you get those services from a health care provider who accepts assignment. Assignment is an agreement by your doctor, provider or medical supplier to be paid directly by Medicare, to accept the approved payment amount for the service and not to bill you for any amount more than the Medicare deductible and coinsurance.
Medicaid, on the other hand, provides health coverage to eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, seniors and people living with disabilities. it's administered by states, according to federal requirements. Some of the mandatory benefits include services such as inpatient and outpatient hospital services, physician services, laboratory and x-ray services and home health services, among others. Some of the optional benefits include such services as prescription drugs, case management, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Does Medicare cover what I need?
Talk to your doctor or health care provider about why you need certain medical services and/or supplies and find out if Medicare will cover them. If you need something that's typically covered and your provider thinks Medicare won't cover it in your situation, you'll have to read and sign a notice saying that you might have to pay for the item, service or supply.
Can you be on both Medicare and Medicaid?
Yes, it's known as dual eligibility. The people who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid are called "dual eligibles." If you have Medicare and full Medicaid coverage, most of your health care costs are likely going to be covered. You can get your Medicare coverage through the Medicare program or a supplemental Medicare Advantage plan (Part C).
In Walmart's Specialty Pharmacy you can take advantage of:
Patient education programs: Research has shown that approximately 60 percent of patients don't understand the instructions for properly taking their prescription medications immediately after a visit to their doctor. Patient education programs are an important step for enabling patients to take an active role in their health and wellness by taking their medications correctly.
Medication therapy management (MTM): This is medical care, provided by pharmacists, whose goal is to optimize drug therapy and improve therapeutic outcomes for patients. This includes patient assessments, medication reviews, creating a medication treatment plan, monitoring the effectiveness and safety of medication therapy, and more.
Reimbursement and insurance claim assistance
Free supporting medical supplies that are associated with therapy
All temperature-controlled prescriptions and supplies are shipped free overnight or, for those central Florida residents, they can be picked up at a facility in Orlando.
