Get the medications you need with Pharmacy Home Delivery
Prescription medications are an essential component of the health, happiness, comfort and well-being of millions of Americans, but cost and convenience are often an issue. If your schedule or mobility restrictions make getting to the pharmacy a challenging task, Walmart's Pharmacy Home Delivery service is here to help. This innovative service takes the logistical planning out of the process of picking up your prescriptions, allowing you to take advantage of Every Day Low Prices from the comfort of your own home. All you have to do is call our Pharmacy Home Delivery department to set up your account and arrange for your deliveries. Your doctor's office will need to call in your prescription, but this saves you the step of having to drop off the prescription at one of our stores. If you have a paper prescription, you can print and mail in a registration form to participate in the Pharmacy Home Delivery program.
Pharmacy Home Delivery eligibility
The Pharmacy Home Delivery program isn't for everyone. Customers who live outside of the United States of America cannot participate in the program. Additionally, not all prescriptions are eligible for Pharmacy Home Delivery. In general, patients who take maintenance medications and other regular-use prescriptions are best suited to this convenient delivery option, but even temporary or one-time prescriptions are often included. Call in to find out if your particular medications are included in the list of drugs eligible for Pharmacy Home Delivery.
Walmart's Pharmacy Home Delivery service works with a wide range of different insurance companies. However, there are some companies, including Aetna Pharmacy Management, Caremark, Medicaid and MedcoHealth, may restrict coverage for drugs purchased through Pharmacy Home Delivery. Prior success using your insurance coverage at pharmacies in Walmart stores doesn't guarantee coverage through the Pharmacy Home Delivery service. If your insurance denies your claim, you can still have your prescription delivered, though there may be a temporary processing delay of up to 7 business days. Self-pay customers who don't have insurance coverage are welcome to use our home delivery service for all eligible prescriptions.
Savings through Pharmacy Home Delivery
Walmart Pharmacy Home Delivery offers a number of financial benefits to customers. If your insurance company participates in the program, you may be able to enjoy bonus savings opportunities through the Pharmacy Home Delivery service. All of our Pharmacy Home Delivery customers can save money on their prescriptions by ordering a 90-day supply of medication through the delivery program. This adds both convenience and savings to your purchase because you'll have a full three months' worth of medication on hand each time your delivery order arrives to your shipping address. Pricing applies to specific generic medications at specific dosages that are the most commonly prescribed for that particular drug. If you request a name brand drug rather than the generic version, you may not receive the 90-day supply cost savings.
Who can benefit from Pharmacy Home Delivery?
This service is intended to assist all eligible Walmart customers with prescription medications that are eligible for delivery. Though anyone can benefit, certain customers may find home delivery more advantageous than others, including professionals who work a graveyard shift or another irregular schedule, busy parents, customers with mobility issues and anyone else who finds it difficult to make it to their local Walmart pharmacy during normal business hours. The program can be especially helpful for those who cannot drive or are otherwise housebound, either temporarily or for the long term. The Pharmacy Home Delivery program offers all eligible customers the opportunity to receive vital prescription medications without showing up in person to pick up the medication or arranging for pickup through a third party.
Walmart Pharmacy Home Delivery accepts payment through credit card only. If you don't have a credit card, you'll not be able to pay for your medications and participate in the program.
Delivery times and emergencies
Your delivery will take 7 to 10 business days to arrive at your delivery address. We ship medications through the United States Postal Service using the First Class Mail designation. You must have an approved postal address to receive deliveries. In the event of an emergency that requires you to have immediate access to a prescription medication, you should have your prescription called in and filled at a Walmart retail pharmacy location; there's no option to expedite shipping for the Pharmacy Home Delivery service at this time.
