The reliable and easy-to-use Zebco 33 reel with a scientifically matched rod: the perfect general purpose fishing combo
What our shoppers say:
No good getting just half a fishing rod
i'm not very happy at all about this product due to who ever shipped it did not have the sense to know that all ends of the box should be secured. All they did was wrap a pc of box around the pole and used packing tape three strips to each end which still left holes so do you recon it is a big surprise that the tip end part of the fishing rod fell out along the way in shipping? So now I have to take all the shipping items and the half of the fishing Rod to my local Wal Mart and hope that they honor giving me a new one in exchange for the half of one i got. If i had wanted to go to the actual store i would have just done so in the first place but now i am forced to in order to hopefully get a whole rod. Not saying this product is no good but the people you entrust in shipping your products need to be evaluated.
I purchased this for my 12 yr old son from Walmart during visiting day at sleep-away camp. It broke in less than a week. At least two other kids in his bunk also bought this same model at the same time from the local Walmart. By the end of the week, all of them were broken. Stay away from this junk.
I am on a budget and this fishing line is perfect for me. Very affordable and strong line. I purchased the 6, 10, and 15 lb lines. My advice would be to soak the line in warm water for several minutes after spooling fresh line onto the reel. This will prevent the terrible \"birds nest\".
My mom is mid 70s, fishes ALL the time and this is her reel of choice. BUT she DOESN'T like that it now comes with the CAJUN LINE. That's the problem, not the reel itself. The cajun line tangles inside the reel and breaks easily.\nI have looked everywhere for a Zebco 33 without the cajun line and cannot find one!
I just go t this today and saw the pole is 7' not 8' like advertised. Maybe the have 2 models and I just got the wrong one. I'm not too worried about it though, it's fine, whatever, I'll keep it and it seems like a good pole still.

What our shoppers say:
Pretty crummy fishing combo
Bought this TODAY for my son as a gift to fish with today also. Once we got it out of the package I was not impressed by the feel of it. It didnt throw very far and made noise as I wound it in. After about 6-7 throws it locked up and would not wind. I took it apart and tried to fix it but no avail. So our fishing day consisted of us looking at the broken reel and watching others fish..I would advise to stay away from this combo..I almost bought him the Zebco 33, but thought this one might be a little more lighter. It is very light and I would not suggest catching more than minnows with it. So tomorrow I will head back to Walmart to get my money back.. I can get back my money but not the wasted time with my son when we could have been fishing..And one more thing, I bought the Zebco 202 slingshot for myself, !2.95 total, and it is a darn good combo. My son used it and fell in love with it..
This combo exceeded my expectations by a long shot!\n\nShould and would have ordered more if I knew it was this good!\n\nWill order more today or tomorrow.\n\nI'm in Japn so the locals have never seen this type of reel. Lol\n\nThanks.
do NOT use the fed ex option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I ever get the product, I'm sure I will like it. I chose the local fed ex office option (would have been very convenient). I was out of town when the product arrived at the local fed ex office. I was advised by email that this product had been shipped. NEVER received any arrival confirmation. Arriving home I went to fed ex the next day. The product had been SENT BACK!!!!! Fed ex has a 5 day send back policy, but I was never advised of this. To further complicate the issue, I can NOT simply have a replacement mailed to me or fed ex. I will receive a credit to the account used to purchase the product, which I have since closed. I will have to work with the bank on this one. In order for me to obtain the product, I must REORDER!!!!!\nI ordered another product the next day, which the local fed ex office claims was also sent back because of their 5 day rule. Walmart.com claims this product is still in transit. DO NOT, DON'T use the fed ex option, no matter how convenient it may seem. They do not communicate with Walmart and vice versa on product arrival and pick-up window.
My Bluegill fishing buddy got a Zebco Z02 Pro from Walmart.com, and his reel looked very nice! After using the reel a couple of days, my friend said that he thought the Z02 Pro reel didn't oscillate enough. So we compared the Z02 Pro to an older, silver colored standard Z02 of mine, and my friend was right. While the older, silver colored, standard Z02 oscillated reliably, the new Z02 Pro only oscillated when held vertical, and then the Z02 Pro's spool oscillated maybe 1\/4 as far as the older reel's spool. So, my fishing buddy returned his Z02 Pro.\n\nAfter seeing how slick the Z02 Pro looks, and considering that the price at Walmart.com was over $20 lower than BassPro, I ordered a Z02 Pro from Walmart.com. Well unfortunately, my new Z02 Pro had the same problem with spool oscillation. And further, my new Z02 Pro emitted a \"grinding \/ growling\" sound very similar to the Zebco 202's that I used as a child. So, I returned the Z02 Pro to my local Walmart store.\n\nOne final thought: Thank you Walmart for having knowledgeable and helpful employees in your return departments at your \"brick & mortar\" stores. It is nice not having to pay for return shipping on defective items from Walmart.com!
I bought this for my 8 year old for our camping trip father's day weekend and it its a good rod for a beginner. He was able to cast it out easily and it reeled in small pan fish with out a problem. I ended up fishing with it quite a bit over our camping weekend and was impressed how nicely it cast. Very good combo for the money.
I bought this to keep in my truck as it was a 2-piece rod and easy to store. It is not like the St.Croix\nrods I use on tournaments, but for the low price it is a great travel rod. I have used mine many times in the past two years and even pulled in an 8lb 2oz bass with this rod. If you are looking for a professional rod go buy one. If you want a rod that will be great to have in the car or truck, this one will work great.
