The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur starring Charleton Heston are great classics and came in this wonderful double-feature DVD package. Purchased at a very reasonable price as a gift for my son and daughter-in-law out of state. Was delivered promptly. I plan to get this for myself as well. Good deal!
There were several periods of video static or \"noise\" on the disc, like spots of dust appearing on the screen. Towards the end of the film a thin horizontal line ran across the entire image for a few seconds and ruined the dramatic effect of the Lafitte-leaves-Annette-with-her-father scene. I tried to mask these flaws by changing picture modes on my HD TV, but to no avail. These defects made the disc hardly Blu-ray quality and were especially disappointing because the rest of recording was great: the rich palette of vibrant colors, the balanced composition of expansive scenes. I returned the disc and ordered another one (available online only) for another ship-to-store delivery--and had to pay a couple of cents more due to a slight price increase; it is only pennies more, but it is galling that I'm not only put to the inconvenience of returning, re-ordering, and waiting for a (hopefully) acceptable disc, but also required to pay more for it. I am hoping that the next one will be acceptable and that these defects are not on all the discs.
THE BEST WESTERN I HAVE EVER SEEN ..... CLEANER THAN MOVIE THEATER.
THE BIGGER & BRIGHTER YOUR SCREEN THE BETTER THE EXPERIENCE.
THE BETTER THE SOUND SYSTEM THE BETTER THE EXPERIENCE.
THE PRICE OF BLU-RAY FILMS ARE NOW VARY LOW, AS ARE THE PLAYERS.
THIS IS RIGHT UP THAR WITH THE GREAT ESCAPE.
I watched this movie with high hopes, as I am a fan of Yul Brynner. But it was pretty bad. It was filmed in 1975 and set in the future in 2012. That was a very dark looking future. The script was poorly written. But Yul Brynner was shirtless through a lot of it. I can't really recommend this movie.
