I guess I should have been more aware of what I was getting into. Three very depressing movies. Heartbreakingly depressing. If you've ever been madly in love with someone you could never be with, if you've never felt love as a child, if you never felt acceptance from your parents or if you've ever loved someone more than they could ever feel for you, then grab a large box of tissues, some aspirin and this three pack of DVDs. Just don't expect any happy endings. Not in these films. In addition, if you are accustomed to subtitles and\/or closed captioning, be warned that these movies do not have them. And if you are easily offended by such things, Brideshead Revisited may not be for you: the recap talks of Charles' affections for Sebastian's sister, but never mentions Sebastian's affections for Charles and that is a big part of the story.
Dark City trades in such weighty themes as memory, thought control, human will and the altering of reality, but is engaging mostly in the degree to which it creates and sustains a visually startling alternate universe.
Wal-Mart's price and shipping costs were excellent and I rated the product accordingly. As for the movie itself...well...\nI love good fiction and fantasy. This movie obviously has an undeserved cult following and I fell for the overwhelmingly good reviews. Silly me. Bad plot, bad direction, terrible acting by Kiefer Sutherland, in particular. The rest of the cast did as good a job as they could with a terrible script and the even more terrible plot. I was, needless to say, extremely disappointed. I resold it (at a loss) as soon as I was done watching it.
Love the product itself, but site to store shipping was a bit longer than I would have like. If I could have had it shipped to my home in 5-7 days, why does it take two weeks to ship to store?\nStill, product is good and shipping to store was free, so it's all good:-)
I got this movie the first day that it came out & only had to pay 13.00 for it in my walmart. I thought it was a great price. I got it because I am a big fan of kristen stewart. I think that she is such an amazing actress. I am so glad that I was able to get this movie. It was a really great movie and krosten did such an amazing job in it. if you love movies that tell love storys then this movie is so for you.
With A History Of Violence, Cronenberg uses the pulp gangster genre - as opposed to, say, sci-fi horror -- to draw us into a dialogue on our relationship as voyeurs to violence, both real and cinematic.
