I would give these 4.5 stars if I could. They are fairly tasty, low-fat, and a good size. They are also super easy for a busy mom (I have 3 kiddos). The shrimp and veggie ones are only 2 g of fat, so good for someone watching their fat\/calorie intake. I buy these near the deli area in Walmart. You can eat them up right away (I think you get a week or two before the due date), or you can freeze them. They come 5 in a pack, and I recommend La Choy Sweet & Sour Sauce with them.
I'm not sure why this product says it is pollock as mine says it is Tilapia. This is by far the worst fish I have ever tasted in my life. Besides being extra \"fishy\" it tastes as if there is dirt in your mouth while you are eating it. I will never by Van de Kamp's fish again. This was a total waste of money. I would not even eat this if I were given it for free!
I've purchased other Van De Kamps products and been pleased enough, but these so-called fillets are just some greasy breading over a paper-thin slice of fish-slime. No kidding.
Don't be fooled as I was by the picture on the box, or the claim that there is a piece of fillet in there. This product might be useful to someone who hates fish and likes greasy bread, but even then toast with butter would make a better meal.
I suppose I'm extra cranky about it because I'm starving - the breading was gross and it you peel it off then there's nothing to eat. Other tham that they're awesome. HA!
Lots of breading here but little to almost no fish. Will never buy again. Yuck! If you like fried breading this is the product to buy. We did not. it should be called \"Van De Kamp's Fishless Fried Breading\"
