when packaged by the original studio; even if it is of course just to keep the series in the all too forgetful public's eye. There is nothing new here for die hard old time fans of the series. The same stories, voices (thank goodness) 90's animation style - cutting edge for its time - and dialog heavy action. Just MY style. Ghost makes you think besides entertaining you, even if the Japanese filmmakers couldn't bring themselves to completely rely on the depth and excellence of the storyline to carry it and they just had to add some half-naked female bodies (sometimes fully naked) for whatever male appeal it supposedly brought. I'd love it if Motoko Kusinagi didn't go about mired in angst over whether she is a breathing Barbie doll with only her human brain remaining from a childhood accident or a real human person wearing a prosthetic body. It would help her if she actually dressed as if she were. No self respecting leader in the kind of position she holds would choose to walk around as if she'd been picked up out of a toy box missing half her uniform. But if that fails then why not just go completely PC and strip off the Ken dolls as well: Saito, Batou, (and especially for this piece: Kuze) and even the semi android Proto would do well for feminine eye-candy. Whatever: \"GITS 2nd Gig\" is the better of the two seasons, but subtly tied to the first so you need them both really - these Collection pkgs make it very easy to own them at far less than when we bought them at first release for a cost of about $160.00 -$200.00.
