Credit for the success of the film has to start with director Robert Zemeckis, who has taken his Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit success and parlayed it into a more mature, yet equally entertaining, film.
This movie spans the times of my life, as I grew up in the same times. How strange is was to watch this movie go through it's storyline. I remember the history in this movie very well. Although some was \"adlibbed\" a little bit, to make it funny, most of it was very serious stuff. Had some very sad moments too. (Mother dying) Getting back with Lt. Dan, fantastic!! A very sad ending, with Jenny and all. A truly great movie, that will be remember forever!!
One of the great real life dramas. Three astronauts are shot off on a "routine" flight to the moon, but an explosion in space makes it doubtful they'll ever return. The courage, dedication, and teamwork brought to bear to save their lives is both suspenseful and inspiring. Transfer quality (especially on the Blu-Ray version) is excellent, and director Ron Howard's moviemaking innovations (like filming some scenes in a truly "weightless" environment) add to the experience. It's on my personal list of the 100 best movies of all time. The disc also includes a load of worthwhile extras. Highly recommended.
I had been trying to find this title locally and no one I checked with had it but, WalMart.com sure did. I received it in a very timely manner having it delivered to our local store. It was very easy to find and order at WalMart.com and the price was certainly right.
The question was never going to be, 'Is Toy Story 3 any good?' ... The question could only be, 'To what degree does Toy Story 3 make you wish you could grab a hold of the wonder that is life and squeeze it as if it were a teddy bear?'
Where to start...My family has been in love with the Toy Story movies since the beginning. The animation is wonderful. Each successive movie goes beyond the imagination in technology. Number 3 has a great storyline which is funny, exciting, sweet, and heartbreaking. If Pixar makes a number 4 to bring all the toys back to Andy it will complete the story. If not, then it is rather upsetting to fans because in movies 1 and 2 and most of 3 the toys are doing anything and everything to get back to Andy where they belong. Just seems wrong to leave them with someone else. Hopefully fans will let Pixar know that the toys belong with Andy regardless of his growing up.
I was looking to buy some Christmas movies for my 5yr old son. We currently live overseas and theirs not much on tv pertaining to Christmas cartoon for children. This dvd was great!!!!!!! You get 4 movies for the price of one.
