My son wanted to watch MP and the Holy Grail with his friends for his 14-year old birthday party. But, he decided this at the last minute. No one was carrying it and I couldn't get it on Netflix. With Wal-Mart's shipping options, I was able to order on-line and have it shipped priority mail to my house and received it in time. My son and his friends loved it.
Terry Gilliam, the veteran film director who cut his teeth as the animation wizard of television's legendary Monty Python's Flying Circus, has flirted with genius throughout his career, and bedded her from time to time. In The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnas
Willis, Stowe, and Pitt deliver believable performances, the plot is complex and fun to follow, and the ending has a major twist. What more could one want? This is a perfect example of how mystery movies should be.
Visually impressive, frequently pretentious, and extremely fluid as narrative (the 137 minutes sail by effortlessly), this mythic comedy-drama presents Gilliam as half seer, half snake-oil salesman and defies you to sort out which is which.
...darkly amusing, often entertaining and overwhelmingly bizarre. Ultimately, the film gets bogged down in its own adventurous aspirations, although it looks a treat with splendid production design and fantastic effects.
