I purchased this movie for my kids ages 5 and 9 to watch. My wife and I along with our 2 children sat down to watch this the night after we picked it up. The movie itself was incredible but to see it so many years later on blu ray was amazing. The detail only added to what was already one of the most memorable movies of my childhood. Everyone who was able to see this in the theaters as a child must see it like this. Now for the real magic of this movie: both my children loved this but it was watching my 5 year old laugh and remain glued to every moment that was so special. It was hard to believe that this movie was made over 30 years ago and had the same effect on my children that it had on me as a child. Forget the special effects that we marvel in today and the computerized animation for a moment and let you and your children enjoy a timeless movie so simple and magical as E.T.ET Movie
We bought this movie to play for our kids (15 and 9) on a car trip this summer. They were not born when it first came out, but my husband and I have good memories of it. After 20 years (!), I am pleased to say the movie has held up well and the kids LOVED it, especially the 9 year old. The ET music is classic now and Drew Barrymore is cute as a bug with her blonde pigtails. :) It's a classic story that every kid should see. Very enjoyable.
