For some reason, they never show this great mid-70s disaster flick on tv. So, I went hunting for it and found it here! McQueen and Newman were never better, imho. Had not seen the flick in years and let me tell you, it is sterling in Blu-Ray. Thanks for the availability Wal-Mart!
Junior Bonner, based on an excellent original screenplay by Jeb Rosebrook, is Peckinpah in the benignly comic mood that, I suspect, is much more the natural fashion of this fine director than is the gross, intellectualized mayhem.
THE BEST WESTERN I HAVE EVER SEEN ..... CLEANER THAN MOVIE THEATER.
THE BIGGER & BRIGHTER YOUR SCREEN THE BETTER THE EXPERIENCE.
THE BETTER THE SOUND SYSTEM THE BETTER THE EXPERIENCE.
THE PRICE OF BLU-RAY FILMS ARE NOW VARY LOW, AS ARE THE PLAYERS.
THIS IS RIGHT UP THAR WITH THE GREAT ESCAPE.
Well, this one caught me off guard. A subject matter that should not be shared with anyone under 17 years old, and I won't let them watch it until they mature either.. But, I do believe the subject matter was covered in a thoughtful, realistic way, and the actors very believable.
Papillon is a great movie but a tad long and somewhat unbelievable. While the movie is based on a supposedly true book sharing the same name, there exist arguments as to whether the story is actually real. You decide. It is a great adventure, and I am glad to have seen it.
Would warn everyone, this remake to the Blu Ray format caused major problem with my 3 different high end blu ray players. Returned to my local Walmart which decided that even though they were not suppose to give a refund for an open DVD they would return my money with the exception of tax and shipping.... Never could get to play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\nI will never purchase a DVD from Walmart again ! If I didn't know better I would think this was a bootleg copy. Real junk........ Seems there may have been some quality control issues. Can you tell.....I'm very unhappy
This is a DVD \"Download\" not taken from a master file\/tape. I saw, when I brought it home, on the edge DVD Download. I went online and found that Warner Brothers Co. was passing these dvds like they were normal.... Upon reading that the quality was horrible etc. I returned the dvd without opening it. $17 plus tax is a bit much for this type of disk.
