As a fan of the late, great Marilyn, I would encourage any others to purchase this collection. It is a delight to finally have these movies as part of my DVD collection, and the price and convenience of pick up (site to store) couldn't be better. Of special note, outside of the group of movies we all know and love--restored, no less--I must mention the last DVD in the group, "The Final Days." I enjoyed this documentary, as it was very informative and full of great clips and photos of MM just before her death. The best part, however, as someone who's always heard about all the footage they shot for "Something's Got to Give" and has been dying to see it. . .you are treated to a reconstruction of the film. They take existing footage and, using scripts and notes from the production, put together what they can so that we might see what could have been. . .and the last of our dear Marilyn Monroe.
Despite the script's cleverness, the presence of Tom Ewell, who is a first rate comedian and Oscar Homolka, who has long been a first rate actor, the entire film continually misses fire and fizzles out, like defective fireworks.
