I hate that this is no longer available...I ADORE this movie...it has an early cameo with Jack Nicholson playing the brother\/step brother. It also has one of the sexiest scenes for me...ever in a movie...a must see bit of 60s-early 70s fashion.
Would warn everyone, this remake to the Blu Ray format caused major problem with my 3 different high end blu ray players. Returned to my local Walmart which decided that even though they were not suppose to give a refund for an open DVD they would return my money with the exception of tax and shipping.... Never could get to play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\nI will never purchase a DVD from Walmart again ! If I didn't know better I would think this was a bootleg copy. Real junk........ Seems there may have been some quality control issues. Can you tell.....I'm very unhappy
Most of us 50 something year olds remember watching the Hitchcock thrillers of the late 50's and early 60's from peeking around a pillow while hiding behind the couch. \"Psycho\" is a macabre story based loosely on the real life killer Edward Gein. (Also the inspiration of \"Silence of the Lambs\".) This story being told during a time before CGI (computer generated imagery) which leaves the horror to be \"imagined\" and somehow much more personal. If you are a Hitchcock fan, you will enjoy this movie. If you are unfamiliar with Hitchcock, this is a great opportunity to learn about him and his work. 5 stars.
This movie is totally pointless.\nThis was suppose to be a shot-for-shot color re-make of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, but it lacks all of the original's... well everything.\n\nTotally avoid this one. Do yourself a favor and re-watch the original.\nThe only reason to even rent this is to compare the two and see how two movies, using the same script, can be so totally different.
