How will the working class be educated to survive and thrive in the computer age? This intoxicating movie has an answer: let her strut her outer-borough wisdom from Wall Street to the Pacific Rim. Watch her fatten portfolios as she melts hearts.
I wonder a little what kids will make of the long silence of the first half followed by the disorienting mania of the second, but there's nothing here that's not wonderfully imagined and lovingly presented.
My 5 year old grandson has watched this movie since he was able to. It came up missing and I was not able to find it locally, I looked on Walmart.com and there it was! This time it was on Blu Ray!!! I placed my order at it arrived 2 days before promised! He watched it immediately! For me...one more great experience with Walmart.com, thank you!
Vantage Point is a tense and imaginative thriller that reels you in the longer it goes along, only to lose focus in the last 15 minutes. This final reel misstep is a shame, but it's not enough to ruin all the good work that's come before it.
It's like pulp fiction except the plot is different and no graphic violence in it. Although the producers could've done it without the rewinding flashblacks, they made the story flow through and make sense.
A mix of unique characters and superb acting in an isolated village creates interest from the beginning of this movie. You are drawn in through their interactions and small hints of a more complex plot, until the pieces come together leaving you satisfied as having completed a puzzle. Great movie for kids aged 12 and older who want to see something a little scary, yet mom and dad will enjoy it too without cringing at the guts and gore some scary movies portray.
This was a great value for 2 dvds. These are older movies and while I searched around for The American President on dvd, I was so happy to find it bundled with Dave. Both are good movies and worth the cost.
With great looks, a dandy supporting cast, a zinger-filled screenplay by Aaron Sorkin and Mr. Douglas twinkling merrily in the Oval Office, The American President is sunny enough to make the real Presidency pale by comparison.
