Aronofsky, who has parlayed this movie's Sundance success into two Hollywood deals, is that rare indie filmmaker who doesn't want to make hip romantic sitcoms. He's a genuine experimenter with a spooky visual style.
This is such an oddball movie I can't believe I sat through it all. The way that this is shot is at times disturbing. Near the last seen of the movie he drills a hole in his head if that tells you anything. If you get nervous easily you won't want to watch this it will make you feel crazy mostly by the way it's sot but by the story also. Not very much talking in this movie but alot of loud sounds.
