| Actors: | Glenn Close, Jamie Bell, Ralph Fiennes, Rita Wilson, Rory Culkin, Justin Chatwin, Carrie-Anne Moss, Camilla Belle |
| Director: | Arie Posin |
It's a surreal, offbeat comedy where the kidnappers are hopelessly inept while Bell feels hopelessly at sea.
A strong cast promises great things, but The Chumscrubber loses itself on the way to its indie aspirations. |

At no point did I feel bored or condescended to, and even though the ending may be overwrought, it had me gripping my chair.
Solid, but forgettable. |

The talents of Williams and Collette are wasted in this ultimately silly psychological thriller that aspires to explore the line dividing perception from reality,"
This thriller about books, belief and betrayal covers topical terrain -- JT LeRoy and James Frey, anyone? -- but itself proves unbelievable. |

Welcome to the one of the best fourth parts of a horror franchise ever made.
Scream 4 is fun, but more clever-clever than fiendishly ingenious. |

This movie was ok. It was kinda corney. It seemed that they was hard up for the storyline. I would rent this movie, not buy it. The other 3 blew it out of the water. They just combined all the other movies storylines to make this one. It's like the Saw and Final Destination movies. They should have stop making them before they screwed them up.

The key to Lonergan's success? He has faith in the intelligence of his audience. It's that simple -- and encouraging.
I never thought I would say this, but I am starting to think that Laura Linney may, in fact, be a very good actress. - Orlando Sentinel, 2000-12-22 |

Sinks under the weight of its own pretensions.
The result isn't awful, but it is awfully familiar. When will someone make a film about being old, poor and ugly in Omaha? |

Individual sequences generate an eerie tension that's always deflated, creating a jarring stop-and-go rhythm, and the atmospheric trickery never strays beyond a lot of smoke and mirrors.
Shyamalan is technically a superb film-maker, for all that he's picked up most of his tricks from Spielberg and Hitchcock. |

the dvd stopped running during the best part. I was able to fast forward to the next scene but we missed a very crucial part of the movie. This disappointing me since I bought it for my mother to view. I did not keep the packaging since I knew it would be a while until my mother visited to see the movie and did not think to view it ahead of time since I had seen it many times myself.

Though unevenly told and at times too fanciful for its own good, "Electrick Children" marks an intriguing feature debut for its risk-taking writer-director, Rebecca Thomas.
"Electrick Children" is well acted and refreshingly nonjudgmental, but its narrative continuity is tenuous at best. |
