I like the ending, and I like some parts here and there, but the movie overall feels somewhat boring to me. I think it should have been shaved down a bit because 2 hours and 20 minutes is superfluous.
Visual effects pioneer Douglas Trumbull (notable for his work on 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner and Close Encounters of the Third Kind), made his directorial debut with this eco-themed sci-fi classic
Judging by the actors involved in Barry Blaustein's amusing but unpolished comedy, it's fair to assume he has a friends in high places. That's good, since they refine Peter Himmelstein's rough script.
This is definitely one of the all time great TV series. Although, I will admit, you can't just buy 1 season, you need to get all 5. Once you start watching it, you will want to continue until the very last episode. Alias does a great job of drawing you in to the story line.
