I have tried 4 other base foods and he will not touch them. He seems to thrive on this food. I recommend it.

The Wild Harvest nut and seed blend isn't the cheapest, but in comparison to some of the other nut and seed blends carried in my local Walmart store, it is worth the difference in price. You can see the difference in quality in terms of the overall freshness and condition of the various ingredients and also in the fact that there is very little \"dust\" (really fine particulates from poorly handled ingredients) in the bag. My parrot Peeve has a definite preference, and this is it.

I used to absolutely love this blend for my rabbit, and she loved to eat it! However, the past three times I have purchased this from WalMart, it has been infested with bugs. The first two times I though it was because it was kept in a bin outside, and maybe the packaging wasn't staying sealed well enough. Apparently I was wrong. I threw away all of the old, infested food, and completely scrubbed clean the rabbits cage, and cleaned everything that goes in it. I bought a brand new bag of this food and instead of keeping it outside, I poured it into one of those plastic cereal holders that are round with the screw on lids, and kept it stored inside the house. This container of food was not taken to where any bugs could've possibly gotten into it after that. Low and behold, I go to pour my rabbit some food a couple days later, and there's the bugs in it all over again! That means they must have been in the packaging to begin with. I will no longer be feeding my precious rabbit this bug infested \"food.\"

Birds do NOT eat this. NO seeds, full of other stuff, I think a grain, maybe wheat. VERY few sunflower seeds. Now I have a mess to clean up. I was able to return this without problem, but the closest Walmart is 45min away. I know quality is a big issue with Walmart products, but thought how could they mess up on birdseed? Of course they could--silly me!! I will continue to shop local and get the quality I know--I tend to buy my birdseed at True Value. We need to shop for quality not price--especially when the price is not that much different.....in fact True Value is always CHEAPER when on sale!! Walmart groceries are more expensive vs sale prices at food stores---watch the sale prices! I never buy food at walmart.
