Nothing says true love like a movie about a desperate, neurotic woman who hires a male whore to take her to her sister's wedding so she can make the ex-fiance jealous. I wonder if they have a Vermont Teddy Bear for that?
Having watched every MacGyver episode multiple times I was very excited to see there were TV movies and they were on DVD! Of course I shopped around and found that Walmart had the best price by far. I had the disc shipped to my local Walmart store and could hardly wait to get the notification that it had arrived. To my surprise the item came earlier than anticipated and it was time to finally get 3 more hours of one of my favorite 80's shows. As the title menu appeared and I clicked play I was immediately shocked by the lack of the MacGyver beginning sequence. Let the snowball roll.... From start to finish the two movies fell short of the legendary show. These rolls could have been cast for Indiana Jones or James Bond, really anybody for that matter. It was completely obvious that the writing was not the same at all! Not to help matters Richard Dean Anderson fell short here too, I think being out of the character for a couple years really hurt him. Its a good thing these movies were released after the show aired and not before or it may never have seen prime time at all. With that said, I would still recommend this to the true MacGyver fans who want to complete their collection but expect to be disappointed by the cheap imitation it is.
