Obviously this is a classic film, but I alredy owned an older DVD that was the "modified for TV" version, 4x3, cut off on the sides. The only reason I purchased this more expensive "Special Edition" was that it is advertised as Widescreen. It's not. It's just the modified 3x4 version Zoomed-in to fill the screen side-to-side, thereby cutting off the top and bottom of the frame. You can do this same zoom thing on most any TV. So there you go. A little false advertising to make an extra buck at Christmas. Oh well. A bit like the decoder ring scam, eh?
Couples is so formulaic, so fake and relentlessly bland, it's hard to care if any of these pairings get a divorce, drown or are eaten by sharks. It has neither the ring of truth nor the fun of fantasy.
I love this movie. Not in a very long time have I seen a movie that has family \/ life values like the good ole B&W films of the 40' to 60's . Not that it lacks in some NOT so old fashion sceens that are gut busters. However this movie sends a clear message through some very funny stuff . Relationships that are still worth everything even though they seem destroyed, can be and should be put back together. Laughing my guts out and thinking OH NO, that's what's going on in my marrage in other parts , makes this movie great. Thanks for the fast shipping Walmart.
