This movie was worth a watch. At first I thought it would be disappointing, but to my shock, it wasn't. There were quite a few parts in that movie that gave me the chills and made me jump!\nYou don't know what to expect!
Though based on an original and respected novel, Hyams' horror thriller comes across as a pastiche of the genre's conventions as evident in major pictures of the past two decades, such as Jaws and the first two Alien films.
I seem to remember this movie being a wider picture at the theater not just enough to fill the 16.9 tv screen but other than this it is one of Alec's better parts, as well as John Lone's performance as Shiwan Khan with apperances by the late greats Peter Boyle & Jonathan Winters. This Movie, in my opinion, was very well done for 1994 with beautiful seenery, dazzeling special effects, a Great Soundtrack and a wonderfully well directed cast. Sinoa's performance of some kind of mistery is well with the time era and Jerry Goldsmiths Arrangements are what can I say ... Golden!. Beats out Dick Tracy 1990 of the same era by a long shot (which by the way had an all star cast). The colors are vivid and the track is exellent DTS sound. Trust me this movie is still comparable to the comic book Hero features they still put out today. I recomend this movie to anyone who enjoys The Dark Knight, Green Lantern, Spiderman, Iron Man and even the new (Don't reem me out in feedback) Man of Steal. Remember this is still only one persons evaluation but the price is very inexpensive for blu-ray and well worth your time to see. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and your kids will love you for it. Yes it is family Friendly. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. and please excuse my spelling. Stepherino
