The Nikon D5200 is a fantastic piece of equipment. We do professional beach photography and because of humidity, salt, sand etc. we do not want to take a 5k dollar camera to the beach. My boss and I both purchased the Nikon D5200 exclusively for this reason. We are not disappointed one bit, this camera shoots 24 mp with outstanding picture quality. The best $1000 I have ever spent. Pro quality at a modest price. PS: the HD 1080p video capability is also fantastic.
I purchased this after couple years using the D3100. The photos are light years ahead in detail and clearity. Alot more controls are on buttons and will be faster to use after I learn the function of them. Most were only available by the menus on the D3100.
i bought it at a higher price last year, and so far it has been worth getting. i have taken some amazing shots with it and overall enjoyed the camera. i cant say i would exactly recommend this one persay though. it is a great model but it was last years model. i would recommend a non slr camera to a begginner and if they were good tell them to get this one. it is great for the price. so if you are an aspiring photographer and wish for a cheaper buy in a quality camera this is definitely what you need.
