\"A Bend In The Road\", \"True Believer\", and \"At First Sight\", are three excellent Nicholas Sparks (\"The Notebook\", \"The Lucky One\") novels, released together for the first time in this excellent Christmas compilation!\n\n\"A Bend In The Road\" contains terrific suspense; \"True Believer\" contains some of the biggest surprises (and one of the happiest endings) in Sparks' repertoire; \"At First Sight\" contains amazing twists and turns, and one of the saddest endings I have ever read (and I mean that in a good way).\n\nOne of the best aspects of Nicholas Sparks' novels is the fact that they often come with discussion questions. Even when I don't participate in book-clubs, I still like reading them and answering them, so as to better understand myself, and the novel. Unfortunately, these discussion questions are missing from these three novels. This did not affect my rating, however, because these discussion questions aren't necessary to enjoy the novels. That, and the discussion questions can be found for free on Nicholas Sparks' website.\n\nOn the plus side, however, \"True Believer\" does contain a preview of Sparks' 2006 novel, \"Dear John\"; specifically, it contains the prologue and first chapter of \"Dear John\". This preview can be found at the end of the book.\n\nI wholeheartedly recommend these novels, and this collection!
It's a good life\/love story in which I can see how people can relate to it, but I felt like it was too much like The Notebook. Don't get me wrong, The Notebook is great, I just felt this story wasn't quite as original as some of the author's other work. Its a short book and a quick ready, but it laked originalilty.
I to could not stop reading this book. wonderful story i laughed and cried. love this author!!! hopefully they will make this into a movie! would recomeend for any one. but beware one you start reading u cannot put it down!
wow this book had me up all night i couldnt stop i had to find out what was goign on and im so happy i did what and amazing story leave it to sparks to make us think were going one way with his storys then flip us around into another direction this is an awesome story!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had high hopes for this book and was let down. This book was just ok. I knew that there was a sequel to it, so the whole time I was reading it I felt like it was a lead up to the real stuff. Overall it was a little boring. I didn't care for the characters that much and the whole mystery with the lights didn't really interest me. Huge Nicholas Sparks fans might enjoy it, but otherwise I would say skip this book and At First Sight and read one of his other novels.
