To my knowledge, a high picture and sound quality version of the Triffids does not exist on DVD. Addionally, I have been unable to find any version on DVD for years. I paid less than $10 for this DVD and for the price, it was worth it.\nDownside: Film is not \"full-screen\" or \"lettter-box.\" The picture is surronded by a black edge which makes the overall viewable picture smaller. Some of the scenes are not of the best visual quality, but the film may not have been made using the best techniques. The quality is akin to what you would see on a late night movie in the 70's on some cable station. Not terrible, but not great.\nUpside: Film is available on DVD at an inexpensive price. Film quality is comprable to my first viewing experience on TV - which made me like and remember this classic. Overall the visual and sound quality are acceptable.\nAddional comment: After watching this film I realized that if this had been filmed in black and white, it would have been like the numerous US of A b-move sci-fiction films of the late 50's. I think the reason this stands out is due to it being in color and a British production.
