If you need a DVR, buy this one: it has plenty of space for your needs. It is easy to use and the booklet is very easy to understand. To make myself perfectly clear I own two Magnovox. The first one did not have this large of hard drive. I prefer the larger one :)

I have another DVR\/VHR by Magnavox which has held up and I use for recording VHS every day. This new one is replacing a JVC which, all of a sudden, stopped working. I use it to record TV shows during the week. Then over the weekends I use it to record from a VHS tape, that I've edited out all the commercials, to permanent DVD discs. It was a little complicated, at 1st, to find what DVD's it would allow the full 6 hrs of recording, how to title each chapter and then the disc, but the telephone techs were very patient and helpful in getting the hang of it. Now, everything's fine, and I'm happy with the purchase. So I can keep recording my favorite reality shows to look back on and say \"I saw them when they just first started.\"

The Magnavox HDD and DVD Recorder with Digital Tuner, 320 GB is probably the easiest recorder to set up that I have ever owned. I have owned several. The Pros and Cons of this recorder compared to other recorders I have owned.\n\nRecording programs is much easier without the hassle of recording on DVD-RW.\nDeleting is a much faster process.\nPicture quality is superior and recording capacity so much greater.\nThe manual is more user friendly than most manuals.\n\nDubbing from HDD to DVD is a long tedious process.\nI found that the price was a little steep.\nHoping that the life expectancy of this recorder exceeds the others.

My previous unit was a Samsung DVD\/VCR combo unit which I would record onto the Direct TV DVR and then edit the recording to my tapes on the VCR and then copy them onto the DVD once all of the editing was done. This unit eliminates the extra step of recording it onto the DVR. I can record directly to the hard drive and do all of the editing on the hard drive while also being more precise in the editing. I can then copy the final version onto a DVD. I use to hate those 1 or 2 second flashes of a commercial that I may have missed when trying to edit out on a tape. I would like editing and finalization to be a little more intuitive, that is the only reason I did not give it 5 on my expectations.

This replaced a VCR for the Office. It is a great product for the price. Easy to use and program and quickly hooks up to TV and cable box. Great Combo DVD\/VCR for the Price.

I like the product. I just had it set up by my son-in-law yesterday. Instructions were confusing. Picture is not crisp, but my son-in-law told me that I need to get the cables (green, blue and red?) and that will solve the problem. I recorded on a DVD-R. I have a lot of VHS tapes that I need to record. When you turn off the unit you have to go on standby. I just put pushed stop, but the unit was still on. I'm still learning about the unit. I like it, it does what I wanted to. Still need more time to get comfortable with it.

I bought this dvd player on March 8. I've used it three times and today,March 13,it won't work. The red light is on to show it is getting power. It allowed me to load a dvd but then shut down and won't come back on. Now my dvd is stuck inside. Will be taking it back later today. Hope Wal-mart will give me a refund because I'm sure not wanting another.

Got a Black Friday \"deal\" last year. Never would do anything other than play movies.... I already had one of those. I bought for the wifi and streaming.

About 75% of the DVDs I tried to play in this DVD player skipped or froze. It's a very poor quality machine.
