ather than a by the numbers sequel, Director Guillermo Del Toro has changed the tone by not only significantly increasing the amount of action & fighting, but adding a little bit of humour into the mix.
This is a terrific value for the money, as is the DVD version. The associates were extremely helpful both times in helping me go thru the process, and the pick-up was a breeze. Far better than Best Buy.\nBasically, this is a re-make of the classic \"Death Race 2000\" starring David Carradine and Sly Stallone. They tell the story of Frankenstein, the top driver of the Death Races, and how he came to be. Far superior to the original.
hile the production design, creatures and many visuals benefit greatly from del Toro's unabashed imagination being allowed to run free, the script is even more enslaved to the mechanically cobbled together conventions of everyday Summer blockbusters.
This is an exceptional movie that is true to Scripture where it is used and although a lot of the scenes and time related issues are added; it is a great teaching tool to test against Scripture and it teaches great time honored truths for youth. My grandchildren have worn out one and watched it numerous times and it is still a favorite. I cannot find a way to give it the highest rating it deserves. Please watch it with your kids and grand-kids, and great-grand-kids.
