Hensleigh romanticizes Greene and doesn't have a very nuanced understanding of labor racketeering. That said, he does possess a fine eye for shabby urban landscapes and a nice way with explosions.
Good movie, not a perfect match to the original...
The acting was good, and the story-line followed along the lines of the original 'Lonesome Dove' but the characters were too young for the time that they were supposed to represent, and there were other issues (ie- Capt. Call was a lot taller than Gus- but not in original, Jake wasn't taller, but was in original, etc.) It's well acted and the story was good- even filling in some of the missing info, just don't expect the characters to match the first installment too closely.\nThat said, Val Kilmer did an excellent job & the movie was well worth the money. I would buy it again!
The monsters are the highlight of the film, and if history is any guide, there will be more ghosts and evildoers for our wholesome heroes to battle in Scooby-Doo 3.
My daughter loves these two movies. I think they are a bit goofy. But a great value for both of them together. Made a recent road trip a wonderful experience.
i first caught this movie on t.v. late one night.. and not seeing it before, i decided to watch it and see if i liked it.. well.. i gotta say.. this movie really touches my heart.. the emotion and the pysical attraction the two guys felt for each other.. really touched me. i would defintly recommend this movie to anyone who is a romantic person with a good heart.. and good understanding.
