My daughter bought this entire HBO series a few years ago and let me borrow it. I loved the series so much, my daughter bought me the entire series for Christmas 2010. I have watched the entire series 3 times so far, from beginning to end and love every minute of it. The ending was so sad, it had me crying. It might have had a lot of twists & turns but very easy to follow. It was funny and serious all rolled into one and allows you to see the other side of the funeral home business you wouldn't normally see. Excellent series.
I'm a dog movie lover! The premise of this story has great potential. However, they failed to develope it or to tell any story at all. It's like they just made a movie out of a rough draft outline...totally undeveloped story! There is absolutely no character development, no storyline to follow, and no real beginning\/middle\/end to this movie! Don't take my word for it...go ahead and waste your money on it.
Starting Out in the Evening is thrilling in a way that a movie larded with car chases and explosions can seldom be, because of the way it deals with that basic building block of civilization, the creative process.
