The presence of old lags Martin Sheen and John Heard just beggars belief. What were they thinking?
This arty melodrama is not likely to make teenage America get down with Shakespeare. |

It sounds awful, but Junger's movie is utterly winning.
At times the pic doesn't even seem certain which decade it's set in; the squeaky-clean high school environs often feel more '80s than '90s. |

Julia Stiles provides the one shining light in an otherwise dull, unfunny, cringe-inducing comedy caper.
every bumbling mishap along the way to the aisle- the sudden public attacks of diarrhea, the psychotic ex-boyfriend, about a hundred other stale gags - is straight out of the campus-howler how-to book |

Kormakur, who directed and co-wrote the script with Edward Martin Weinman, falls short in the story department and even shorter in evoking the droll, twisted humor that must carry the day. - Hollywood Reporter, 2006-11-04 |

The inspired pairing of Channing and Stiles creates real dramatic fireworks.

Unfortunately, another bird beside an owl comes to mind to describe this misbegotten feature: a turkey.
Overall, it's the kind of technically proficient, deliberately paced, grim sleepwalk that leaves one cold rather than cracked open. |

It's like watching the dreckiest of teen puppy courtships trying to pass itself off as 'Annie Hall.
It's all reasonably pleasant to watch, but Isacsson doesn't seem to know what to do with the story once Al and Imogen fall in love. |

The part that holds in the movie was broken. The movie was loose in the case.

So completely lacking in his eye for revealing detail and his ear for colloquial speech that it feels less like a movie than an incomplete first draft of a well-meaning if unsophisticated essay. - New York Times, 2009-08-28
It's a familiar formula: Greedy suits touting high-rise schematics and targeting blue-collar citizens end up locking horns with a local firebrand. Guess who wins? |

All but one, (Carolina \u2013 reminded me of Emma), of these films was more than convincing, believable, and worthwhile to view. Be prepared to learn from these films too, as they can help us cope with everyday situations, and encourage us to persevere in the face of overwhelming odds.\nSharon Stone was so moving, as an understanding and empathetic Mother trying her very best and believing in her son\u2019s ability, played enthusiastically by Kieran Culkin (The Mighty).\nAll the other films, Music of the Heart, The Battle of Shaker Heights, Wide Awake and Smoke Signals (:D) are excellent choices made by Miramax to compile the set.\nMore than Highly recommended and excellent value.
