It's a great film and I ordered it for my nursing class as an example of mental illness. Delivery to the store was fast but when I got it handed to me the case was smashed in half. Luckily the disc had popped out and survived. The customer service lady was nice and offered to return it for me, but being short on time with my class coming up I had to take it \"as is.\" The moral of the story is always check the product in front of an employee before you leave.
First-time director James Gartner observes all the rituals--the coach busting chops, the team sneaking out to party--but the players are indifferently characterized and the civil rights story has a fake Black History Month feel.
