John Taylor was only 18 years old when he co-founded the ?80s pop rock band Duran Duran with Nick Rhodes. Taylor would continue to play the bass guitar for Duran Duran until 1997, when he left the band to venture into a solo career. During that time, Taylor co-founded an independent record label, released albums, and signed a contract with a Japanese record label. In 2000, Duran Duran's lead vocalist Simon Le Bon approached Taylor and the other members to reunite the band. The group once more started a worldwide tour and released the albums ?Astronaut,? ?Only after Dark,? and ?All You Need Is Now.? Taylor authored his autobiography In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death, and Duran Duran in 2012.
