After his previous windows on the absurd ... A Mighty Wind proves that Guest has turned parody into an art form.
There is no shortage of performers with comic skills in A Mighty Wind. What's lacking instead is a visible premise for the satire and ridicule. |

The most even-keeled, pleasant and mainstream movie Jim Carrey has made in many a moon.
Numbingly predictable and not as filled with action as the misleading poster suggests. |

Fred Claus is in the grand tradition of a certain type of Yuletide farce - one that's about as funny as a crushed bauble in your egg nog.
The spirit of Scrooge surges strong within me having watched this chillingly cynical and unfunny Christmas movie. |

All spunk and no spark make for a mediocre movie.
A charmless, witless, lumbering mess. Almost nothing could redeem this lame comedy. |

[It] attempts to be hip and edgy by featuring plenty of discussions about boy parts and girl parts and how they become friends with one another. However, the makers of this film clearly have no idea about how men and women actually interact.
If all you need is a fix of puerile smut and puddle-deep romantic giggles and can't wait for the next episode of Two and a Half Men, The Ugly Truth should do the trick. |

Weirdly ill-conceived. Diaz is good and very believable as ... the most dislikable character I've encountered in a film in a long time ... [which] makes for a lousy movie.
Somehow, surprisingly, without things ever turning schmaltzy, we end up caring about this selfish, foul-mouthed teacher, even if it's just a smidgen. And in hindsight, that's a pretty impressive feat. |

Guest goes for big, crude laughs every step of the way, and only a few of them come off.
The comedy is very unsubtle, and huge swathes of screen-time are given over to Fred Willard as a presenter on a dumb entertainment TV show - funny, yes, but not funny enough to justify the vast amount of time he is given. |

...this is packed with all the warmth, heart and humanity that one has come to expect from a Cameron Crowe film.
You have to admire the thoroughness with which We Bought a Zoo - which is the film Disney would make if they still knew how - caters to the whole family. |

A newly widowed father of 2 buys a property which just happens to include a nearly defunct zoo - complete with lion, bear, tiger, etc. His children have the modern attitudes we expect, and their father is sincere about making it all work. Even the ferocious animals and their keepers- part of the package deal -are loveable through it all. Will they meet the deadline set by that nasty inspector?Great Movie
Great movie, wish I could by it at Walmart, but Walmart is selling fewer and fewer movies with Digital Copy. Like this movie comes with VuDu STREAMING, not a Digital Copywe've watched more buffering than movie
Movie is great - but we've watched more buffering than movie - we're giving up and hope it works better tomorrow. Disappointing.
