This is a double-sided single disk with no labels other than the tiny print around the center of the DVD--and even that labeling is smeared. When you start up the DVD, you get about 15 minutes of advertising (and not all of it family friendly) for the producers other products--a cycle you can't escape or fast forward through. The best thing to be said about this DVD is that if you really want THE STORY LADY (which I did, although it's not the story I remember or was thinking of#, it's cheaper than buying it as a single DVD.\n\nTHE STORY LADY: The basic part of this movie is fine #an elderly woman looking for something to do with her time reads children's stories on her own cable access show#, but the surrounding story lines aren't especially uplifting. #Commercial enterprises take advantage of the Story Lady; some of the other acts at the cable access company are questionable.# It's not full of foul language or violence, but some of the other actions would earn this a PG rating from me.\n\nThe most recent of the remaining three movies is 1952, all in black and white with no technological frills. BEYOND TOMORROW starts out ok, a rather typical syrupy 1940s flick, but declines into ridiculous and misleading fantasy. A man who dies in a plane crash gets to decide whether or not he goes to Heaven or wanders the earth forever. The man decides to forgo Heaven to try to help a man on earth. God tells him his decision is final. Later God comes back for the man because his #dead# mother insists on is. Please.... SCROOGE is poorly spliced together, even for a 1935 film and only 60 minutes long. Worse still, some of the scenes left in refer to things that you would only know from earlier scenes--except those are left out. The saving grace is that most people know this story, whether all the scenes are there or not. A STAR SHALL RISE is the worst of the lot. This is supposed to be about the journey of the three wise men. This bears very little semblance to any Biblical account I've ever read. In this movie, one of the wise men only makes the trip so he can be there to see others proved wrong. Spare me.... And the sound is awful.
