A love letter to helicopter parents this is a ridiculous, if well-meaning, film that needs a good pruning.
The film is schmaltzy and very saccharine, so sweet it'll give you a toothache. |

I purchase DVDs to entertain my 85 year old mother. She was able to keep up with the movie and she enjoyed the story line. For a minute I thought it would have a sad ending but it turned and had a happy ending. I waited for the DVD after seeing the advertisements and thoroughly enjoyed the watching. I will probably watch it again in a few weeks.

The Kingdom works as an exotic action thriller, but its politics are so choked on checks and balances it cancels itself out.
When it's got the pedal to the metal, which is a substantial fraction of the running time, The Kingdom delivers the goods. |

I am a complete movie buff and I have to say, The Kingdom is one of the BEST (terrorist\/CIA) movies I've seen. This movie wasn't advertised much and I didn't know about it when it came out in theaters, but it is a MUST BUY and a MUST SEE for your movie collection. 5+ enthusiastic thumbs up. If you see this movie, I can assure you'll be recommending it to others as well. Great movie!

While there is nothing wrong with a comedy engaging in religious satire, neither Gervais nor Robinson seems willing to take on the topic thoughtfully.
A high-concept, laugh-free over-indulgence that blows up terribly in the face of its smug star. |

Given as a Christmas present. Movie was good though.blu-ray vs. dvd
When shopping for this product, I sorted my search results by price. I found this disc for about $17 & bought it without ever questioning if it would play in a dvd player. I've never had a Blu-ray; I've heard of them, & I understand that they offer more features, some of them interactive...But I was really disappointed after giving it as a gift, only to be informed by the recipient that a Blu-ray disc will not play in a dvd player, although a regular dvd will play in a Blu-ray player. Yes, I was ignorant & the lesson was learned; but the experience turned me off of blu-ray altogether.

My son and I like to watch super hero movies and we're gradually trading up our DVD collection for blu-rays. These are three okay movies, nothing exceptional but certainly worth $13 for a box-set of three. Not sure if they'd be worth much more though so star ratings go down one with each additional $5. Hardly worth getting if over $25.

I was a little skeptical of this movie because I watched Streets of Laredo first and didn't care for it. However, a few minutes into the movie it looked like it might actually live up to the quality of the Lonesome Dove Series. The actors that played Call and McCrae were both excellent. They captured the spirit of their characters very well.

Screenwriter Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman make Juno the marvelously un-still center of a wistfully acerbic comedy that qualifies as a feminized version of Knocked Up.
Fierce without being cruel, sweet without becoming saccharine, and never short of hilarious, it's not only the best comedy of the year, but one of the best films, period. |

Great movie and value. There are two copies inside; one for home and one for your car. I didn't realize this until I got it home and opened it.\nMovie: tough subject that was handled very well.

Quirky supporting characters enliven this by-the-numbers romcom.
McConaughey too once showed promise, but here he seems to be auditioning for a bad sitcom, while Garner misuses her gawky sincerity. |

loading product information Brought back to life by a powerful, gifted, and blind Sensei. For what purpose? Revenge for her father and for her own death. She trains relentlessly. She learns everything but the one thing she can not be taught. Then she is told to leave by her Sensei. She is the strongest and fastest. She becomes an assassin for hire. She always get gets the job done. In the end she finds some happiness is a young girl who she soon befriends. But not just any girl. This girl is \"The One.\" The villains are in search of will do everything in there power to have this treasure. Called simply, \"The Hand.\" In the end she learns the one thing her Sensei could not teach her. Elektra is a very powerful (and beautiful) super hero. I actually like this move better than Daredevil. The movie did not do well in Theaters. I am not sure why but this is a great movie. There was rumor on line about an Elektra II: however, due to weak box office sales it was canned. The digital quality is way better with this Blu-ray than as compared to the Daredevil Blu-ray. There are several scenes in Daredevil that are quit grainy; whereas, most scenes seem crystal clear in Elektra. I've been reading and seeing a lot about True HD in many reviews when it comes to high definition Blu-ray disc's. That there is a difference between that and Blu-ray's with out it. Even tho neither have True HD the digital video with Elektra is far superior. You'll love the digital audio that's if you have dts-hd decoder on your set. I have owned a Blu-ray player and PS3 for a while but just recently started to build my collection. If you enjoy X-Men, Fantastic 4, Star Wars, etc. I would highly suggest adding this title to your collection. Enjoy!

Leiner's lame-brained travesty shoots for wacky but instead ends up being intensely irritating.
Daft and lovable and even kinda daring, Dude deserves its truly clueless studio's belabored support. |
