It's very much a conventional thrill-ride action movie, though the claims to realism are undercut by too many video-game point-of-view shots as the soldiers engage the enemy.
Not so much a war movie as a tribute to the Commandos known as the SEALs, and to their bonds forged in battle, it's a sombre affair, immersing us in the culture of these specially trained soldiers. Indeed, the cast are made up of genuine SEAL team members |

Act of valor is a great movie, even better on blu ray. The DVD package I got was on sale for $10 (black Friday). Even at regular price I say it's worth it, because you get your own digital copy that you can watch anywhere on your phone!Awesome movie
This movie was very action packed and I enjoyed it completely!

This simplistic and obvious expose about the manipulative power of the news media (lazily acted by Travoilta and Hoffman) is so familiar that it's not going to upset or provoke anyone.
