Most of us 50 something year olds remember watching the Hitchcock thrillers of the late 50's and early 60's from peeking around a pillow while hiding behind the couch. \"Psycho\" is a macabre story based loosely on the real life killer Edward Gein. (Also the inspiration of \"Silence of the Lambs\".) This story being told during a time before CGI (computer generated imagery) which leaves the horror to be \"imagined\" and somehow much more personal. If you are a Hitchcock fan, you will enjoy this movie. If you are unfamiliar with Hitchcock, this is a great opportunity to learn about him and his work. 5 stars.
This movie is totally pointless.\nThis was suppose to be a shot-for-shot color re-make of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, but it lacks all of the original's... well everything.\n\nTotally avoid this one. Do yourself a favor and re-watch the original.\nThe only reason to even rent this is to compare the two and see how two movies, using the same script, can be so totally different.
