Ed Lachman's cinematography is letter perfect as always in its handling of light and color (assisted here by Barbara Ling's flashy production design), but it's a pity to see it wasted on such claptrap.
I can only imagine how much this movie parallels Robert Downey Jrs. real life...I first saw this movie during the 80s when it was new. I thought it was excellent and a breakthrough for RDJ. I am happy to recommend it, as I am White Palace with James Spader, both breakthrough roles in my opinion. I am glad the RDJ has maintained himself recently and am always in awe of his acting skills.
