The show is SO MUCH MORE than the blurb written on the back of the boxed set! Funny, witty and charming, this is a situation comedy series that provides many laugh-out-loud moments that people of all ages and backgrounds will relate to. However, this DVD collection of Season One doesn't provide much insight into the show or it's cast and any \"extras\" are just bits and pieces which don't truly round out or enhance the production as a whole. For fans of Zooey Deschanel or New Girl who were hoping for gems like deleted scenes, outtakes, interviews, etc., be forwarned that there are only three, short commentaries with very little else included to live up to the expectations of fans that have watched the show since it premiered and have waited with baited breath for the boxed set of Season One to arrive. My only hope is that given the increased popularity of the show since it's premiere, Season Two will offer many more features that are worthy of this hilarious comedy.\n\nAlso, if you have never seen the show and are looking for a good laugh, know that this is a sitcom along the lines of Friends, Scrubs, and Happy Endings. Although the pilot felt awkward and stale, keep watching the shows that follow and you will be rewarded with characters that truly develop with their own unique phrases and idiosyncrasies, and episodes that will give you belly cramps from laughing!
Safety Not Guaranteed is the absolute best movie I have seen in a very long time. I very highly recommend it. Mark Duplass is by far one of the most talented people in entertainment and his acting in this role is spot on. The movie is touching without being cheesy, funny without being slapstick or raunchy (I do enjoy slapstick\/raunchy comedy but was NOT necessary in this film and frankly would have ruined it) and leaves you feeling hopeful. Not many movies leave a lasting impression on me but Safety Not Guaranteed very definitely did. I hope I don't sound condescending but this isn't a movie for people who enjoy the traditional \"comedies\" that get churrned out of Hollywood. There's no gross outs, no boobs and no spit takes. Just great writing, perfect casting\/acting and an ORIGINAL story. It is great.
