Peck is superb as the man out of his depth, while King's solid direction and some fine camerawork make Twelve O'Clock High one of the most compelling examples of the genre.
GREAT MOVIE, NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE, BUT IT DOES FOLLOW THE BALLAD OF JESSE JAMES PRETTY CLOSELY. STILL A TREMENDOUS MOVIE, IN SPITE OF IT'S INACCURACIES.
I have seen this movie probably 15 times in my life. It is the inspiring movie of Bernadette of Lourdes. Moving and touching in every way, they would walk us down to the theater to see it from school once a year. Highly recommended movie for the entire family.
Seen this movie as I was browsing other DVDs. Peck is good, but not as good as his character in the \"Guns of Navarone\". Susan Hayward is outstanding as Bathsheba, perfect casting of the character. The guy playing Nathan the Prophet is perfect.
With a star-filled cast and a fitful sense of drama, it's pretty much the same old recipe as the equivalent cycle of megabudget '70s exploiters, but the climactic conflagration is certainly worth the wait.
