my husband has always been a trekkie fan! we had these sets on vhs for quite a while... upgraded to dvd... and now to blu-ray. he loves the picture quality very much and this was his favorite christmas gift!
I actually wanted the enhanced version of the original Star Trek series but imagine my surprise when it popped up on the screen that I could watch either the original or enhanced version of each episode!\nI couldn't help it, I watched both and compared all the enhancements they had made in each episode. So whether you like the original or the enhanced version, this is a great set and the picture quality is great too.
There is something comfortable, even old-shoeish, about the new film, a sense, appropriate to its theme of coming to terms with middle age, that all aboard are pleasurably rediscovering their best selves.
I'm a big time Futurama fan, so I'm still happy I bought this DVD. But I would be embarassed if someone who had never seen Futurama before got their hands on this as their first Futurama experience. Horrible is a harsh word, but the movie is really all over the place. Bender's Big Score was \"good\", Beast was just \"ok\" and now this. It still has some funny moments and it's always good to see familiar characters in new situations, but this time around they're just trying too hard... and failing. I wish they didn't have this deal with Fox and could stick with just 30 minute episodes.
