Cool Hand Luke had a cast of great actors including Paul Newman, George Kennedy, and Strother Martin. Martin taunted Newman with the legendary line, \"what we've got here is...failure to communicate.\" It is hard to believe that both Newman and Martin have passed away. However, we can still enjoy their steller performances in Cool Hand Luke.\n\nMy only negative comment is the blu-ray picture quality could have been better. However, I still recommend the film.
I had the DVD of this film and it was no better than watching a VHS, poor picture quality. But the Blue-ray release was obviously redigitized from a master with a good encoder. It was just like seeing it in the theatre again. Great picture, even on a 60\" plasma TV.
Star rated movies. many actors well known for past serious\nand some funny movies, but these were serious and\nprovided insight into stresses that people as professionals\nmust face in times of disaster. The last movie with the Concorde\nwas unrealistic at times.
A novel, auteur-driven film populated with reliably charismatic stars; even at the age of 50 it leaves most modern produce in the dust. It was also a hit. Five decades later, why has Hollywood not learnt their lesson?
