I ordered these bulbs on 1\/14\/13 and today is 1\/28\/13 but the item is still in \"shipping\". Ironically I received an email from Walmart asking me to review this purchase. I guess I will give it 1 star since I don't even have my bulbs 2 weeks after I order them.
GE Energy Smart light bulbs save energy, save money, last longer and provide the same quality of light as conventional Soft White incandescent bulbs and are ENERGY STAR qualified. These light bulbs use compact fluorescent technology (CFL).
What our shoppers say:
Dimmable but not like incandescents
Most people complain that CFLs don't dim much. My complaint is that you have to turn the dimmer to max brightness every time you want to turn the bulb on, making these useless for three way circuits. I finally got the time to do an investigation into switching over to CFLs and LEDs, but neither are ready for prime time, except in the basement.
great bulbs, my one gripe, advertised (6 bulbs), 3- 2pks, I received only 1 of the 2 pks. Will see if Walmart makes it right. As it is they owe me 4 bulbs, 2- 2pks. Better do the right thing Walmart! As it is right now, I would reccomend buying in store, but I'm not sure I'd order online again, we'll see.
The order came in with only one box of 2. Walmart.com customer service told me to deal with two stores. The stores told me to deal with Walmart.com. Each are passing the buck over 4 light bulbs. The are claiming that the picture shows a box of two when clearly the description states 6 bulbs. The cost of two I was told by a manger in one of the stores I was dealing with was $10 and change. I was ordering them through the site to store for my closest store didn't carry them. The mismanagement of this product would make me think again about buying from walmart.com.\n\nAs for the two I have the bulbs from GE are fine. There is nothing wrong with the actual product.
The product is great, its that the statement on the website states its 12 bulbs when its really only three per box.thats the only problem i had, otherwise i have no problems thse bulbs or very efficient as stated.
Ad says that there are 3 bulbs, but only 1 was in the package that had the proper UPC code. I obtained a refund and repurchased a package of 2 bulbs for a cheaper price than the one that was advertised for 3 bulbs ( but had only 1 bulb )
I ordered a twelve pack online and had the site-to-store shipment done. Later when I checked out the price of 2 piece ones, they were cheaper than 6 bought together.
I placed an order and was given an \"instck and redy for pick up at the wrong store. Up until this point I have never had an issue and would still use your on line service.
This is a 3 bulb pack. It does not include 12 bulbs as indicated in the product title above.\n\nThese compact fluorescent light bulbs are very efficient and long-lasting. They create the same amount of light as 40-watt incandescent light bulbs using less energy.
These bulbs have the look I wanted and are energy efficient.....I spent more than I normally spend on light bulbs because of this.\n\nUnfortunately, waiting for these to get bright is like watching the sun come up. The light is dim until they warm up; its very irritating not to have instant light when I flip on the switch. I'm looking forward to these burning out and will never purchase this item again or recommend it to anyone.
I recently bought a 4 foot fluorescent light for my new workshop. I haven't done much with fluorescent lights and thought the one I bought was like the ones in my dads shop that have been in it since 1979. On the box it said \"30% more efficient\" and \"PREMIUM PERFORMANCE WHEN OPERATED WITH 4' 32W T8 LAMPS\". Now I've never heard of the fluorescent light tubes being rated with a T8, or a T* anything, so I didn't know what it was talking about. Now it only said \"PREMIUM PERFORMANCE WHEN OPERATED WITH\" the T8 lamps and didn't say that it would ONLY WORK WITH THE T8 LAMPS. Not knowing the difference and looking over the available light tubes on the shelf above where I picked up the box with the light fixture in it, I didn't see any marked with a T8. So I just got a pair of the large dia. tubes like the ones in the 4 foot light fixtures in my dads shop and as I found out later are T12 light tubes. When I tested them in the new fixture it immediately tripped the breaker. So I thought it was a defective light fixture and took it back and got another one that was also a different style. Tested it with the light tubes I had and the same thing, it immediately tripped the breaker. So I got to looking into the T rating and found that it meant the diameter of the tube and the old ones are T12. Some \"Light Experts\" told me that it shouldn't make any difference which one was used in the fixture and I probably got another defective light fixture. Other \"Experts\" told me that they shouldn't fit the same fixture and I had just put them in wrong.\nSo after getting several more conflicting instructions & explanations from several self proclaimed \"Experts\" I just ordered a pair of these 4' 30W T8 Fluorescent Light Tubes online. I'm not sure what the \"Lumes\" rating is for them and it doesn't say in the description for them. And even though on the box for the light fixture it claims that they are \"30% MORE EFFICIENT\" they are no where near as bright as the old T12 40W Fluorescent light tubes are. Where one of the old T12 4' foot lights would have been enough I'm going to have to put two of these light fixtures. And even a third to get the same amount of light as two of the old T12 light fixtures and to have enough light to work by in my new 12'x20' garage workshop. My dads old shop is 16'x24' and two of the old style 4 foot T12 light fixtures in it give plenty of light to work by.\nSure, when comparing the T8 lights to the T12, the T8 may use 30% less electricity. But what good is that when you need twice as many of them to have enough light to work with? By the time you add a second light fixture and another pair of T8 light tubes your now using at least 40% MORE electricity than you would be using with just one of the T12 light fixtures. So it turns out to be the typical scam. They tell you \"use these T8 lights to save 30% on your light bill\"! But they don't tell you that since they are not even close to as bright as the old T12 lights you now have to have twice as many of them to see what you're doing! Or at least three T8 fixtures to equal two T12 fixtures. Either way it still comes down to telling you it cost LESS when it will really cost you MORE in the end.\nI also read something about the new T8 light tubes being able to turn on quicker or not needing a starter in the fixture like the old ones, or something like that. But what I don't get is why did they make them only 32watt when the old ones are 40watt? I haven't seen any other fluorescent lights available in other watt sizes either. Why isn't there a variety of brightness in them like there is in the old fashioned screw in light bulbs and even the new, funky corkscrew looking, screw in fluorescent light bulbs?
