Thomas Harris is now hoodwinked by his creation's faux pedigree. He's scripted him a ridiculously Eurotrashy upbringing, one so silly, it'll remind you of Dr. Evil's memory-tripping: "Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons..."
Hannibal Rising, older movie in brand new condition
If you've seen \"Silence of the Lambs\", you definitely need to see this 'prequel' which explains how Hannibal got that way to begin with in gruesome detail. A compelling film that will have you cheering for the bad guy, with a plot twist at the end you won't see coming. I'm glad we now own this movie because I will definitely be watching it again. Two thumbs up!
It gallops along as elegantly and confidently as the horsemen we see in the opening scene - part bodice-ripper, part patrician soap opera, and part romantic tragedy - albeit a romantic tragedy of no very great resonance or depth.
